Debbie Deere, Owner
I am the Owner/Executive Director of A Deere Place. I started this program in my garage in 1993, for the purpose of allowing myself to have a job that allowed me to stay home with my own 3 children. I was a frazzled, working Mom, who had an unpleasant experience with finding quality childcare for my family. I was determined from the beginning, to offer services that provided peace of mind in a safe, fun, and affordable environment for their child.
ADP had an original enrollment of 10 children. In 1997 the program expanded and moved into the Lansing Elementary School as a Before & After School Program for 10 years. It has been at its current location in the Lansing Business Center since November of 2007. The facility now serves children, ages 2 ½ - 11, and has an enrollment capacity of 98 children.
Tonia Mein, Program Director
I am the Program Director at A Deere Place. I have worked with children in many capacities since 1985, to include: Summer camps and sports camps during high school and college, a nanny for 3 years, and a Home Childcare Provider for 2 years. I moved into the Child Care Center scene in 2000. I have been working at ADP since 2002.
I attended the University of Kansas, majoring in Health & Physical Education. I am involved in the Women's Chamber through the LV/Lansing Chamber of Commerce. I am a 2013 graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class. Through that experience, I was able to learn many new things about our community.
When I am not at ADP, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two boys, one is currently awaiting nursing school acceptance and the other is attending K-State. If you know me, you will know that I am not a Wildcats fan. I am a die-hard Kansas Jayhawks fan, and you will never see me sporting the color purple.
I love working with children and being able to make a difference in the lives of them and their families. I cannot imagine doing anything else. ADP is my second family. I wanted to find a way to express my love for children and working at ADP has given me opportunities I never expected.
My door is always open for a hug from a child or a conversation with a parent or other family member!
